Hey everybody! It's Denise Reed your host. I'm here to bring you a little joy today and help you think about happiness. I am sharing the "52 Lists for Happiness" journal by Moorea Seal. I think this journal is just so pretty, and it's one of the best gifts I've ever received. It helps me focus on what's positive and how to chase happiness. It's 'my thing' here lately. I want to chase happiness fiercely and share it with you as I do it. Hopefully, you will enjoy the journey with me.
Today we are covering list seven! Yay! It's definitely an uptick from list six, which was kind of a downer last week. List #7 is: what's your greatest compliment? Sometimes we forget that compliments are important. Write your compliments down so you can track them and remind yourself just how wonderful you are when you're questioning your brain power and skills. Doing this is a gentle reminder when someone else is questioning your wonderfulness! What were or are your greatest compliments? Along with your compliments, what words of encouragement have you ever been given? So both of these things are part of your list seven in your "52 Lists for Happiness." I think it's great that I can actually reference my greatest compliments and my greatest words of encouragement in this great little journal. It's a great 'pick me up' and who doesn't need to pick me up?
I'm telling you all this negativity and craziness that's out here in the world needs a happiness focus instead! I thought it would be fun if maybe I shared one or two things on my 'list seven.' I can honestly say that my greatest encourager has been my mother. Always! Even when I was screwing up in my life as a young adult trying to figure out what the crap to do, she always found a way to encourage me to go on to the next step. She's definitely been an encourager since I took over ownership of The Concierge Office Suites here in Chattanooga, TN. She came from an entrepreneurial background from a very young age and was able to sustain a living and be self-employed for many, many years. She was my biggest fan and encourager when I stepped into owning my own company. I am thrilled to say that my mom is my number one encourager and has been all of my life. I can't imagine what it would have been like if she hadn't been here to do that.
One of the greatest compliments I've ever received was from a client. We were able to accommodate their really short-term experience for several weeks here at The Concierge Office Suites. See concierge is our middle name! It's why I wake up in the morning. I get to do all kinds of cool stuff for people like name stars after their children. Sometimes I do really mundane things on-the-regular that free my clients up to focus on what makes them money. They don't have to manage their office space at The Concierge Office Suites. This short-term client took me aside one morning. I set up the space they were going to be working out of for the day. And he said, "Denise, I want you to know that you are the kindest human being I have ever done business with." I'll let that sit there with you for just a moment - because not everyone can get that kind of compliment or actually accept that kind of compliment. That is one of the sweetest things that I've ever been told.
I really try to do the right thing every day and make sure my clients can experience a little bit of joy and happiness in their lives. I can't say that it's the same for other people I have done business with. I have found other people have no desire to go the extra mile. I'm just trying to do the right thing. Just saying.
I will say that one of my business associates that served with me on a couple of boards and we had a weekend retreat as a result of our mastermind sessions together said, "You know, Denise, you are the female version of Tony Robbins!" I'm so glad that we're friends.
I hope you're able to create your list #7 from the "52 Lists for Happiness." What's your greatest compliment and what words of encouragement have you ever been given? Choose joy! I hope you can share your joy with others. Have an awesome day!
